One question a workday

Work is hard.
Some weeks more
than others.

One question a workday: You good? It takes two seconds, and it shows you whether the week you are having is only yours.

Wednesday

You
good?

You good?

Answer it if you like. Nothing on this page is saved or sent anywhere.

Counting now

You’re not
the only one.

Most people assume the week they are having is theirs alone. Usually it is not.

Always the same five workdays, never a single day. A day is small enough to be about one meeting, and small enough to be about one person.

A count is the whole output: three numbers, with nothing underneath them to open.

Your office
sees itself.

A place having a hard time can see that it is. It does not have to win a vote first.

Once twelve people at an office have confirmed a work address there, it starts showing its five-day count to the people who work in it. Nothing to organise and nothing to opt into. Whether anybody else can read it is the part the office votes on, two thirds, every day — and it stops the moment that slips, at midnight, quietly, without an announcement.

Two thirds

2/3

of the people who work there, voting yes. What it takes to be readable from outside, and taken again every day.

people with a confirmed work address. Small enough to be a team, big enough not to be a person.

Under the line

0

is what anybody outside sees if the vote slips. The office keeps its own count. Not a smaller number — nothing, until it comes back.

Where it’s heavy.

How other places are doing, when they choose to say. A district is as precise as this ever gets — nothing in this app knows where an office is, so there is nothing to put on a map.

Nobody is
keeping score.

You will only say how the week is actually going if saying so costs you nothing. So it costs nothing.

Your answer stays on your phone. Nobody is told what you picked — not the person sitting next to you, and nobody further up either. There is no box to explain yourself in, because a box to explain yourself in is a box somebody reads.

Skipping is a real answer to a different question, so it is not counted as one and nothing follows it. Nothing here measures how often you turn up.

What we keep.

Every field the app holds, named in plain words. If something is added to the app and not added here, this page is a lie.

  • The domain of your work address
  • Which office you picked
  • Your answers, one a day
  • The time each answer was logged
  • Whether you voted to show your office
  • A recovery key, only if you asked for one
  • A way to know it is still you

What we do not keep

Your email address. Your name. Where you are, which nothing in this app can even ask for. Anything that would let someone follow you around, here or anywhere else.

Not a setting.

None of these is a setting somebody can quietly change. Each one is checked automatically, and the app cannot be built with any of them broken.

  • 01

    No location

The app never asks where you are. It is not that permission is switched off — there is nothing in it that could ask.

  • 02

    No stored address

Your work address is used once, to confirm where you work, and then it is gone. We keep the domain, so we know which office you mean. We do not keep you.

  • 03

    One kind of account

Everyone who signs in sees the same thing, and it is the same thing anyone outside can see. There is no second version of the app with more in it.

  • 04

    No streaks

Today's answer joins today's count, and that is where it ends. Nothing rewards you for turning up, and nothing notices when you don't.

  • 05

    No advertising

The app carries no advertising and no third-party code. There is nothing about you to sell.
