alsohere is built on a small amount of other people's work. This page names it, which is both the polite thing and, in one case, the licence condition.

The cities

GeoNames cities15000 — every settlement over fifteen thousand people, with its coordinates. It is what lets the app place the city you named on a coastline without asking where you are.

Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International. Used with changes: the list is reduced to a hash of each name and two scaled integers, twelve bytes a city, which is enough to place a name you already have and cannot be read back into a list of places.

Natural Earth 110m land — the coastlines the cities are drawn against. Public domain, no conditions attached. Used with changes: simplified and reduced to the same bundled file.

Neither dataset describes a person, and neither is fetched at runtime. Both are compiled into the app, so drawing a map tells nobody which city you were looking at.

The typeface

Inter, by Rasmus Andersson, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Three cuts are used: the 28pt optical size at Light for display sizes, and the 18pt cut at Regular and Medium for everything else.

Everything else

The words, the artwork, the icon, and the code are original.

There is no analytics service, no advertising network, no crash reporting, and no third-party SDK in the app. It has no package dependencies and links only Apple's own frameworks.
